If you haven't heard of Agar.io you may have been living under an extremely heavy dark rock (without your iPad). This game is seriously simple but helps kids understand the concepts of how the world of science works. The Premise: You take the form of a unwitting gelatinous blob that eats up tiny bits of matter. In the process you grow larger; this allows you to devour other players who are also small blobs attempting to survive. The larger you grow the stronger you get and the longer you may survive. Not to mention, you can join others in non-threatening cooperation to create synergies that benefit both of you. Overall, it is a great example of the natural world and demonstrates to students how things survive and that there is not only one strategy for survival. Gaming as a whole has gotten a bad rap from many parents who don't understand their children well enough. Though screen time for children under the age of 5 should be seriously limited, there are plenty of games out there that stimulate the mind and teach children many important skills.
